The conference was joined by 75 experts from scientific institutes, universities, rescue units and many other proffesionals coming from various organizations and companies associated with protection against CBRN agents. The programme included 44 presentations covering handling of the &nbsp;hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive materials, protection against them and decontamination thereof.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The conference was introduced by prof. Ing. Vladim\u00edr Pitschmann, CSc. reflecting actual status of knowledge of chemical weapons and impact of cutting edge scientific releases and actual unstable politic situations on development of new sophisticated chemical and biological threats. Following presentations dealt with foresics of CBRN agents including new challenges as fentanyl derivatives and related risks and needs to adapt actual safety procedures for first responders and crime investigators. Many contributions presented new methods for detection and identification of CBRN agents, innovative methods for their deconatmination as well as new smart protective materials including novel nanocomposites and novel protective means. Part of the programme covered new methods for testing the effectiveness of the protective means and health safety of PPE usage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hazmat Protect 2018 provided a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and lessons learned, for researchers, lecturers as well as practitioners involved in the field of preparedness and response to CBRN events. The conference with its broad aims attracted all participants to increased attention to various fields concerning CBRN issues and protection against thereof. Worthy experience and knowledge were shared during uncountable informal meetings and many cooperations were arranged to promote collaboration and networking between scientists, emergency professionals and expert decision makers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\">We are looking forward to our next meeting in 2020!<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\" align=\"right\">Ing.
